Balancing Sport and Academics as a Student Athlete
It is important to manage your time wisely so you do not get overwhelmed with all your school work.Make a schedule that includes time for studying, practicing, and competing, as well as time for socializing, relaxation, and self-care. Make a calendar that has your day set out in detail. You can also make a to do list with all your assignments to make sure you have enough time in your day to complete everything you need to complete.
2. Set priorities
As a student athlete, you need to set priorities for your time and energy. You can't do everything, so it's important to determine what's most important to you. Decide on your academic and athletic goals for the semester or year and make a plan to achieve them. Be realistic and don't take on more than you can handle. Being able to do this will also positively impact your time management.
3. Communication
Communication is key to being able to balance your school and other requirements you have as a student athlete. Communicating with your teachers and coaches will be very beneficial to your success. Let your coaches and teachers know about your schedule and commitments, and work with them to find ways to balance both.
4. Take care of yourself
make sure you have the right nutrition, sleep, and recovery to help you perform well academically. take breaks when you need to from homework and re group and then try again. Remember it is okay to get frustrated and stressed and learn from those times to help you in the future.
